- McGowan Government extends successful flu vaccination blitz by another month
- All Western Australians eligible for free influenza vaccine during July
- Builds on the success of 'Free Jab June' which boosted vaccination rate to more than 30 per cent
- Free vaccinations available at State-run clinics, GPs and pharmacies throughout the month
Western Australians now have an extra month to arm themselves against the flu.
The McGowan Government is extending its free influenza vaccine program for all Western Australians across the month of July to give anyone who is yet to take part the chance to get vaccinated.
'Free Jab June' saw free influenza vaccinations available across WA at State-run vaccination clinics on a 'walk in' basis and at participating pharmacies and GPs via booking.
To date, more than 30 per cent of WA has been vaccinated for influenza this year, with almost a third of those jabbed during June.
The Government has worked with pharmacies and GPs to expand subsidised vaccinations to every Western Australian with the goal of encouraging high levels of vaccination during the winter influenza season.
Previously, only certain cohorts of especially vulnerable people were offered free influenza vaccinations, under existing State and Commonwealth vaccination programs.
In 2020, WA achieved its greatest influenza vaccine coverage at 37 per cent.
The free flu vaccine blitz builds on the Government's campaign about the benefits of healthy hygiene as well as getting vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu, to raise awareness in the WA community.

Comments attributed to Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson:
"In WA, more than 30 per cent of people have been vaccinated for influenza and we are hoping this trend can help us surpass 2020's record vaccination coverage of 37 per cent.
"Extending our free influenza vaccine program for another month will help ensure everyone has the chance to roll up and protect themselves during the worst of winter."
